if i brought a 220 avg house shot bowler over there, i can guarantee you that my bowler would be eaten alive by you guys due to the fact that bowlers like him are not used to the oiling conditions over there. the only way a bowler from the US would make it is if bowling on what is called a sport condition is regular to him/her. there are a lot of 200+ avg bowlers from within the filipino bowling community here in the states. but a lot of them are not willing to be challenged on the tougher conditions. and that goes even
with the filipino bowlers from canada. you lay out a sport shot in front of them, they just chicken out. i guess i´m one of the few that is willing to be challenged on a much tougher condition. "donating" $$$ is not a problem for me. just as long as i know that the match is a grindout and not a shootout.
OK let´s hear it. suggestions? comments? replies?

are you implying that we have poor lane equipment here in the philippines? most of the lanes we play are synthetic. we use kegel for lane maintenance. with the equipment now, it is easy to average 220 on a house shot (am assuming you mean a christmas tree pattern).

your bowler has a chance to beat the bowlers here.

no, what i´m trying to say is the oil pattern that is laid out there is more of a semi sport condition. i´ve seen the lanes in pictures from the website. the average house bowler here would be eaten alive over there. and i do know that the lane maintenance equipment there are much more newer than we have here. a lot of it had to do with booming of bowling there.
i´m not even putting you guys down at all. i´m even jealous as a matter of fact. a lot of proprietors here are not willing to spend on upgrades. they have the "if it ain´t broke don´t fix it" mentality.

on an ordinary day on the synthetic houses, the shot´s pretty easy. if you heard from others that the shot´s hard, maybe they played on amf-puyat wood lanes with a rake pattern.

our standard house shot is a 10 - 10 wall 35-38´. you can average 240 easily.

mark,

you don´t need to practice a block pattern. you are already good enough for that pattern.
