On behalf of the Davao Tenpin Bowlers Association, Inc (DATBA,Inc.), I am extending this official invitation to you and your Club to join us as we host the 10th DATBA Araw ng Dabaw - NBT Open on March 05-08,2014 at the B3 Entertainment Centrum, NCCC Mall, Maa, Davao City.
Our aim is to establish good camaraderie among fellow bowlers from different bowling associations and clubs affiliated with the Philippine Bowling Congress.

This Tournament is sanctioned by the Philippine Bowling Congress
All duly registered members of the Philippine Bowling Congress may participate in this tournament.
The average of the participants shall be based on the following order of priority:
4.1 The latest available list of PBC averages
4.2 Association average duly certified by its President/Tournament Director
4.3 Club average duly certified by its President/Tournament Director
4.4 Any Bowler who won in any PBC Sanctioned Open Tournament from March 01, 2014 – March 07, 2015 shall automatically be upgraded from his/her existing classification to the next higher classification for purpose of assigning his/her handicap in the 10th DATBA ARAW NG DABAW OPEN.
4.5 The tournament committee reserves the right to upgrade or downgrade a bowler’s average.

Senior bowlers aged 60 up shall be given a plus 5 handicap. Proof of age should be shown upon registration
All players are required to wear a proper bowling uniform during the game.
Qualifying Rounds: To qualify for the master’s event, a bowler must play two (2) sets of three (3) games each.
Any registered bowler can play multiple entries or as many sets as he/she wants to try for their best qualifying games. Seeded bowler or champion of the last years 9th DATBA Araw ng Dabaw Open, is required to play the qualifying event in order for him to be qualified in the masters’ finals.
Masters Event: The masters’ event shall be composed of the Top 35 and the seeded bowler and they will play eight ( games. Top eight ( bowlers after eight games shall advance to the next round (shoot-out format).There will be lane movement after every game (bowlers will move 4 lanes).The bowlers ranked 8th, 7th , 6th , 5th shall play a shoot-out game. The winner shall advance to the next shoot out game. The winner, together with bowlers ranked 4th, 3rd, 2nd, shall play another shoot-out game and the winner will challenge the 1st ranked bowler in the championship game. The 1st ranked bowler shall have the twice to beat advantage over the challenger. The Winner in this match shall be declared the MASTERS CHAMPION of the 10th DATBA ARAW NG DABAW OPEN. Winners shall be declared based on their original rankings (after eight games) regardless of his/her score in the shoot-out match.
Registration fee is Php 2,500.00 (inclusive of 2 sets of 3 games) Amount shall be paid in full before the start of the 1st game. Re-try is Php 400 per set of 3 games. Registration received shall be on a first-come first-served basis. There will be no refund of registration fees after it has been paid and registered. Registration for the Masters’ event shall be Php 2,500.00 with free t-shirt.

10 CHECK-IN TIME
All participants must check-in at the tournament counter at least 30 minutes before the schedule time. The B3 bowling center clock time shall be the official time of the tournament.

12 PLAYING AREA
Other than the players and official individual team coaches, only tournament officials including scores and bowling center lane personnel shall be allowed to enter the playing area.
13 TIE BREAKING
12.1 Ties in the last place cut-off (Top 36) of the masters’ event shall be in favor to the bowler with the higher average as stated in section 4 of this format.
12.2 Ties in the 8th place cut-off after 8 games in the masters’ event shall be resolved in favor to the bowler who have the least difference between the highest and the lowest game (including handicap). Further ties shall be resolved in favor to the bowler with the higher average as stated in section 4 of this format.
12.3 Ties in the shoot-out match shall be in favor of the higher ranked bowler.
14 LATE COMERS
Late comers will be given 0 points pinfalls per frame missed and will still be allowed to continue. An automatic score of zero (0) for those coming in after the 3rd frame but will still be allowed to play in the next game. ( for qualifying only)
Official score sheets must be signed by the bowlers after each game to acknowledge his/her score. If the bowler fails to sigh his /her score sheet, it is presumed that his/her scores are correct and no protest on such basis shall be entertained. Errors in the scoring of calculation in a tournament play must be corrected by a tournament official immediately upon the discovery of such error. Questionable errors shall be made declared/decided by the tournament committee. Any player who deliberately tampers his/hers score sheet shall be disqualified immediately from further participation on in the tournament.
16 NO OPEN BOWLING
When the tournament has started, participants shall not be allowed to play bowling regardless of lane availability in the venue of the tournament.
17 MISSING OR DOWN PIN(S)
Frame with missing pin(s), once the ball is rolled shall be treated as good ball, frame with fallen or down pins(s) on the pin check must be rebowled. All bowlers are entrusted to monitor and abide by this rule. Bowlers are not allowed to reset the pins, only lane men, tournament official and official scorers are allowed.
18 LANE BREAKDOWN
Should a single pair of lanes be rendered unusable for more than 20 minutes before or during the game, the tournament committee reserves the right to assign any available lanes provided by the bowling center to affected participants. An interrupted game or series must resume from the point (frame) of interruption. No bowling will be allowed.
In the event that the score of game(s) being erased and cannot be recalled or traced due to power failure or computer breakdown, the bowler concerned will required to bowl a new game. However, all scores of completed games that have been recorded on the official score sheet will remain unchanged.
During the finals, wherever a player chooses to discontinue his/her game, a pacer may be designated by a marshal.
Protest must be done in writing addressed to the tournament committee not later than 24 hours after the game in which the infraction was committed or prior awarding of prizes, whichever comes first. Otherwise such protest shall not be entertained. Each protest under this rule shall be specific in itself and this rule shall not be constructed to cover a similar or previous violation. The decision of the tournament committee is deemed final and not further appeal of protest will be accepted.
21 INTERPRETATION OF RULES AND REGULATIONS
Philippine Bowling Congress (PBC) rules shall apply. The tournament committee reserves the right to make the final interpretation in any of the rules and regulations mentioned above and to decide any matters not covered by the aforementioned rules and regulations and its decision shall be considered final.
