16th SLETBA Open Tenpin Bowling Championships

GREETINGS!

       You are cordially invited to join the 16th STA. LUCIA EAST TENPIN BOWLING ASSOCIATION (SLETBA) OPEN CHAMPIONSHIPS to be held on October 6 – 14, 2012 at Sta. Lucia East Grand Mall Bowling Center.

       Your presence will not only greatly support our association’s activities but it will also immensely promote the sport of bowling in our country as well.

16th SLETBA Open Tenpin Bowling Championships
October 06 to 14, 2012 at Sta Lucia East Grand Mall Bowling Center, Cainta, Rizal

RULES AND REGULATIONS
1.  ORGANIZATION AND SANCTION
This tournament is organized by the Sta. Lucia East Tenpin Bowling Association (SLETBA) and duly sanctioned by the Philippine Bowling Congress (PBC). It will be held on October 06 - 14, 2012 at the Sta. Lucia East Bowling Center in Cainta, Rizal.

2.  ELIGIBILITY
    Open to all bowlers who are members in good standing of any association    
    affiliated with the PBC.

3.  AVERAGES
Latest PBC average of local bowlers shall be used for classification purposes. Those without a PBC average may present an Average Certification from their association or club signed by the President or Secretary; otherwise an average of 196 will be given for men and 186 for women. The Tournament Committee may assign averages that it may deem appropriate.

4.  CLASSIFICATION

a. OPEN MASTERS:         Male and Female bowlers regardless of    
Average. Female bowlers will each be given a handicap of 8. National Team members (men and Ladies) can only play in this division.

b. GRADED MASTERS: Male and Female bowlers with PBC average of    195 and below.  Female bowlers will be given a handicap of 8.
   
c. ASSOCIATE MASTERS: Male and Female bowlers with an average of 180 and below. Female bowlers will be given a handicap of 8.

d. MIXED LADIES MASTERS:   Open to all female bowlers with an average not exceeding 185.

e. SENIOR MASTERS:              Male and Female Bowlers who are at least 50
                    Years old and above. Forty Niners turning 50
on or before December 31, 2012 are likewise
qualified to join.

5.  REGISTRATION
All entries must be registered and submitted with the relevant fees starting on Oct 06, 2012 at the Sta. Lucia East Grand Mall Bowling Center in Cainta, Rizal. No refund of fees will be allowed.

6.  EVENTS / FEES
   
   Qualifying Fees
        All Events   : Php 1,000.00  
Singles : Php 500.00 per block of 3 games. 2 blocks needed to qualify.
                       Plus Php 250.00 if qualifying also for  other division  
Doubles : Php 500.00 per set of 2 games. Combined average of the pair
                   should not exceed 390 for Graded (Class A) and
                   360 for Associate (Class B).
Team : Php 750.00 per set of 2 games. Combined average of three  
                   members should not exceed 585 for
                   Graded (Class A) and 540 for Associate (Class B).

Bowlers can play as many attempts as they want. Only the first attempts in the singles, doubles and team event will be counted as their ALL EVENTS score. Top three scores in each division will be declared as champion, 1st runner-up and 2nd runner-up.


Finals Fees

Open Masters P3, 000    (12 games)
Graded Masters   2,800    (12 games)
Associate Masters   2,500    (10 games)
Mixed Ladies Masters                        2,500    (10 games)
Senior Masters         2,500    (10 games)

7.  UNIFORMS

Bowlers must wear the generally accepted bowling uniforms reflective of their association, congresses, federation, club or sponsor. Any bowling uniform with PBC logo shall be allowed, except sleeveless and collarless T-shirts. Shorts are allowed for male participants during qualifying days but not in the finals. Wearing of caps or hats is not allowed at any time. Players violating the rule may be penalized with a 10-pins point deduction per game or may not be allowed to bowl.

8.  BOWLING BALLS

It is the bowler’s responsibility to ensure that all bowling balls used during the  
tournament is verified for correctness of weights and other specifications. If in  
doubt, the ball(s) may be verified by the Tournament Technical Committee.    This committee reserves the right to recall any ball(s) for inspection at any time.

9.  TIE BREAK PROCEDURES

a. When a tie occurs for the last place in the Qualifying or Finals, the high-low tie-breaker scheme will be applied to determine the positions.
a. If a tie still exists after the tie-breaker, the 9th and 10th frame roll-off will be used and/or repeated until the tie is broken.
b. When a tie occurs for first place in the Finals, a one game roll-off shall be held to determine the positions. If there’s still a tie, the 9th and 10th frame roll-off will be used and/or repeated until the tie is broken.  

10.  FINALS EVENTS

a. Open Masters – Top 30 qualifiers (1 seeded) will play a 12-game series with lane movement every game and positioning in the 11th game. Top 3 bowlers will be declared winners. Lanes to be used are: Lanes 7 to 26 (by 3’s)
b. Graded Masters – Top 30 qualifiers will play a 12-game series with lane movement every game and positioning in the 11th game. Top 3 bowlers will be declared winners. Lanes to be used are: Lanes 7 to 26 (by 3’s)
c. Associate Masters – Top 36 qualifiers will play a 10-game series with lane movement  every 2 games and positioning in the 8th game. Top 3 bowlers will be declared winners. Lanes to be used are Lanes 5 to 28 (by 3’s)  
d. Mixed Ladies Masters: Top 24 bowlers shall play a 10 game series with lane movement every 2 games and positioning in the 8thgame.Top 3 bowlers will be declared winners. Lanes to be used are: Lanes 5 to 28 (by 2’s)
e. Senior Masters – Top 36 qualifiers will play a 10-game series with lane movement every 2 games and positioning in the 8th game. Top 3 bowlers will be declared winners. Lanes to be used are: Lanes 5 to 28 (by 3’s)

NOTE:  The above stated lanes to be used during the finals may be changed whenever necessary (i.e. machine breakdowns, etc.).

11.  SCHEDULES / QUALIFYING
Opening ceremonies will be held on October 06, 2012, at the Sta. Lucia East Grand Mall Bowling Center at 12:00 noon and after which, qualifying squad times are as follows:

a. Oct.07 – qualifying events starts at 10:00 A.M.
b. Oct 13 -  qualifying events starts after the scheduled Finals

If preferred squad times indicated on the entry forms are not available, the Tournament Committee reserves the right to assign squad times at their discretion, or to open additional squads or cancel a scheduled squad. Squad times may vary from actual schedules.

14. AWARDS

Awarding of prizes and closing ceremonies shall be held immediately after the finals of the Open Masters Event.

15.   VERIFICATION OF SCORES

It is the bowlers’ responsibility to ensure that the correct score for each game is recorded in the official score sheet by signing on the official score sheet.

16.  INTERPRETATION OF RULES

The Tournament Committee reserves the right to make the final interpretation of the Rules and Regulations cited herein.

17.  PROTEST

a. Scores -- Must be submitted in writing to the Tournament Committee within 12 hours of the event. No protest made after the prize presentation will be entertained.
b. Eligibility – Must be submitted in writing to the Tournament Committee within 12 hours of the first infringement.
c. Foul – Must be brought to the attention of the Lane Marshall before the delivery of the next ball. No complaints made after the 2nd ball has been bowled shall be entertained.

18.  SPECIAL NOTES

a. The Tournament Director, or in his absence, his appointed official on duty, reserves the right to accept or reject any entry as deem fit. All matters arising which are not covered in these Rules and Regulations will be decided by the Tournament Committee whose decision shall be final.
b. The maximum score attainable by each bowler in any game shall be 300, regardless of handicaps, if any.


PERFECT  300 GAME AWARD:

1st  Perfect Gamer – Php 10,000.00
2nd Perfect Gamer -           7,500.00
3rd Perfect gamer -            5,000.00
4th Perfect Gamer -            2,500.00
          5th Pefect Gamer, etc.            none  


19. MISCELLANEOUS

c. Smoking is strictly prohibited in areas other than the designated “SMOKING LOUNGE”.
d. Only bowlers currently playing and Marshalls are allowed to stay within the bowlers’ area. Coaches, friends, etc., are designated to stay behind the counter of the bowlers’ area.
e. Proper decorum must be observed by everyone at all times.
