PLAYING RULES AND REGULATIONS

1) VENUE AND TIME
All games shall be played every SATURDAY at the PLAYDIUM BOWLING CENTER Quezon City. Shadow ball starts at 8:30pm, roll off at 8:45pm center time.

2) TEAM COMPOSITION
Each team shall consist of at most eight ( Cool

bowlers, wherein any four (4) bowlers will play in each game.

3) FORMAT
The tournament shall be composed of eight ( Cool

weeks, seven (7) weeks for the team event and one (1) week for the individual event.

a. TEAM EVENT : Each team shall play sixteen (16) games per week. Weekly standing will be based on total series with handicap. Each team shall be required to have at least two (2) players present, otherwise, the whole team will be given a score of four hundred eighty (480) per game. Every absent player will get a score of one twenty (120).

1. REGULAR round (1st to 6th week) : Late bowlers will be allowed to play as long as one is ready to bowl and the first bowler of the opposing team has not yet roll his/her 4th frame. A score of 12 pins for each frame will be imposed up to 3rd frame only

2. CHAMPIONSHIP round (8th week) : A bowler has to play at least eight ( Cool

games on the regular round to be eligible to play on the championship day. Late bowlers will be given a score of 120.

b. INDIVIDUAL EVENT on the 7th week.

1. QUALIFYING : During the regular round of the team event, the bowler’s highest 4 game series (SCRATCH) in a week shall serve as one’s qualifying score for the masters event. A bowler, from every team, who has the highest qualifying score, will automatically earn a slot at the masters event. While the remaining slots will be open to the rest of the participants, ranked by their qualifying scores.

Total number of masters finalists = number of participating teams X 2

2. MASTERS : Each bowler will be playing six (6) games with lane movement every game. There is NO positioning round. Top three (3) finishers base on their SCRATCH SERIES will be declared as winners. This event is for FREE. No call on reserves.

*SCRATCH score for ladies will be given an additional five (5) pins per game for the qualifying and masters event.

4) ENTERING AVERAGES
Bowlers’ entering averages shall be based on the following:
a. 7th Inter-School Alumni Bowling Tournament (minimum of 12 games played)
b. Clubs playing in Playdium bowling center : Highest available average (minimum of 16 games played) from Viking bowling club, U & I bowling club, Lions’ bowling club, BNB/PTBA bowling club, FIB bowling club and Club Playdium
c. Other clubs : Additional 15 pins from the certified average, undersigned by the tournament director or the president.
d. 160 for female and 190 for male.

* Minimum entering averages, 165 for male and 155 for female.

5) HANDICAPPING SYSTEM
a. male bowlers : HDCP = (225 – actual average) x .8 ; maximum of 48
b. female bowlers : HDCP = (225 – actual average); maximum of 70

* A maximum of 10 pins drop from the entering average will be imposed..

6) SCHEDULE OF GAMES
1st week - August 20, Saturday
2nd week - August 27, Saturday
3rd week - September 3, Saturday
4th week - September 10, Saturday
5th week - September 17, Saturday
6th week - September 24, Saturday
7th week - October 1, Saturday
8th week - October 9, Sunday

7) TIE-BREAKER
a. TEAM EVENT : The team with the least total handicap for the whole league gets the highest rank. Incase of another tie, the team with the least difference between the highest and the lowest series with handicap played in the finals gets the highest rank.

b. INDIVIDUAL RECORD :
1.High average : The bowler with the most number of games played, with a minimum of 20 games played.
2.High series : The bowler with the least difference between the highest and lowest score.
3.High game : The bowler who sets the record first.
4.High series with handicap : The bowler with the least difference between the highest and lowest score. In case of another tie, the bowler with the least handicap shall attain the highest position.
5.High game with handicap : The bowler with the least handicap.

c. MASTERS EVENT (top 3) : one game roll off until the tie is broken. For the highest series with handicap, the bowler with the least difference between the highest and lowest score shall attain the highest ranking. In case of another tie, the bowler with the least handicap shall attain the highest ranking.

8) TOURNAMENT FEES
A tournament fee of P15,000.00 per team will be collected within the first 5 weeks. Uniforms will be charged at P350.00 per piece.

9) UNIFORM
Official uniform shall be worn during the game, otherwise, the bowler will be given ten (10) pins deduction per game, applicable also for all special prizes.

10) SCORESHEET
Official score sheet must be checked and signed by the team captain or representative. Otherwise, it is understood that the scores are correct and no protest will be entertained.

11) PROTEST
Protest from a team should immediately call the attention of the tournament director and must submit in writing to the tournament committee within 48 hours after the game in question is played. The decision of the tournament committee is deemed final. No further protest or appeal will be accepted.

12) POSTPONEMENT
Postponement of games will be announced in advance unless otherwise caused by natural conditions beyond the tournament committee’s control PAGASA’s announcement of typhoon signal no. 3 automatically cancels the games for the week. In case of flood, due to heavy rains in the late afternoon, call Playdium for the conformation. The tournament committee will inform Playdium by 5pm.

13) LANE BREKADOWN
a. Should the bowling lanes be unusable for 30 minutes, affected teams shall inform the tournament director and can transfer to spare lanes immediately. No shadow bowling will be allowed anymore. This is applied throughout the league including the final week.

b. If no spare lanes are available or in the event the scores of the game are erased and cannot be retrieved, the tournament committee reserves the right to review the situation and take appropriate action and the decision will be deemed final.

14) MISSING OR DOWN PINS
Once a bowler has bowled a pin deck with missing or down pins, it shall be treated as a good ball. If the pin setter touches a falling pin after the first ball, the particular pin should be reset.

15) WRONG LANE
If a bowler played on the wrong lane, one’s score will be erased and one has to re bowl.

16) PACER
Only registered bowlers will be allowed to play during the game.

17) FOUL LINE
Foul lines are opened during the playing dates. Stepping over the foul line is also considered a foul. If the foul line device is inoperative, call the attention of any tournament committee’s member and the device must be switched off. All players are likewise designated to monitor fouls committed by bowlers.

Hi FFCAAI committee;

First of all, I want to congratulate the host school Philippine Cultural, for a job well done. You did a great job on the opening day and thanks' for those give ways.

I just want to comment on the the T-shirt. We paid PhP350.00 for our team T-shirt and yet it was full of commercial print, it's just like a yellow page, only printed in different color. You shouldn't have collected PhP350.00 from us if you're going to print ads on the T-shirt, for sure nobody wants to buy a PhP350.00 t-shirt printed with ads.

Hope the tournament committee and/or host school don't mined if I make a suggestion; If possible for our future tournament let the participating schools/team pick their own t-shirt design and color because some schools may like to use their school team color, in this way we can help participating schools save/recycle the t-shirt for the next tournament.

We need also to improved the handycapping system and for a change maybe the committee will also consider changing the venue, (Note; I have nothing against Playdium or it's management) I think a little change will do no harm to this organization.

Hello AXB , we are the tournament committee from this years host, the Philippine Cultural College Alumni Association, under the supervision of Federation of Filipino Chinese Alumni Association Inc. First of all, we would like to thank you for the compliment on our opening ceremony...

Btw, the 1st edition of our rules and regulations was posted last august 6, 2011. We had some revisions particularly on the (1)shirt fee and (2)individual prizes which was placed inside the folder during the first day of the tournament...
(1)The actual shirt fee is only 250.00, sorry if we haven't refunded the excess 100.00 yet.... But most of the teams paid the shirt at 250.00 pesos a piece, maybe they read the printed rules instead of the online version.. Your team will be surely refunded before the end of the tournament... (the placement of logos on the bowling shirt was appoved by the chairman)
(2)In the masters event, instead of 1 winner for the highest series with handicap, we will be awarding the top 3 bowlers for the highest series with handicap... In the perfect game, instead of 2,500.00pesos, we increased it to 5,000.00pesos to the succeeding winners..
We will coordinate with playdium bowling center to upload the lastest version of the rules and regulations...
If you'll notice the individual cash prizes, they are all unlimited. We felt that we need to be fair in the cash prizes, meaning the 1st and last bowler who will roll a high game, must get the same prize... its not on who rolled it first, its on who can roll it.... without our beloved sponsors, it will not be possible since the tournament fee can only cover limited prizes...

This is our first time to host the FFCAAI bowling cup, to tell you the truth, we had some minor problems since we want to do something but cannot proceed since we are under the federation and it has set of agreements between all the participating schools.

Your suggestion on the different design of shirt was already talked about within the federation and their final decision was to use the color of the hosting school. Maybe you can suggest it to your alumni head and open it up again on their next meeting... We would like to hear your suggestion on the handicapping system, because if it is good enough, we can also apply it in our club weekly league...

Thank you for your comments and suggestions, we, the PCC tournament committee and the FFCAAI bowling committee, welcome them since the some rules and regulations needs to be changed, to make the tournament more competitive...
We will also inform the FFCAAI about your suggestions since i think they dont have the time to browse our forum...
