18th SLETBA Open Tenpin Bowling Championships
October 4 to 12, 2014


Dear Friends,

On October 4 to 12, 2014, the 18th SLETBA Open Tenpin Bowling Championships will be held at the Sta. Lucia East Grand Mall Bowling Center in Cainta, Rizal. This annual event is sanctioned by the Philippine Bowling Congress.

The tournament will be in CLASSIC FORMAT, with four (4) groups vying for the prizes: GROUP 1, GROUP 2, GROUP 3, and, Senior Masters. The Tournament Rules and Regulations are enclosed.

We take this opportunity to extend our invitation to your association and members to participate and support us in this endeavor.

The opening ceremonies will be held at 12:00 noon of October 4 and the games shall start immediately thereafter. We are also inviting you personally to do us the honors of throwing the “ceremonial ball”, along with the PBC President and the other Association Presidents.

The Rules and Regulations governing the tournament and the official invitation letter are attached for your reference.

RULES AND REGULATIONS

1. ORGANIZATION AND SANCTIONS
The Tournament is organized by the Sta Lucia East tenpin Bowling Association (SLETBA) and duly sanctioned by the Philippine Bowling Congress (PBC). It will be held on Oct 4 to 12, 2014 at the Sta
Lucia East Grand Mall Bowling Center in Cainta, Rizal.
2. ELIGIBILITY
Open to all bowlers who are members in good standing of any tenpin bowling association affiliated with PBC.
3. AVERAGES
Latest PBC average of bowlers will be used for classification purposes. Those without a PBC average may present an average certification from their association signed by the President or Secretary; otherwise an average of 186 and 196 for female and male bowlers respectively will be given.
4. FORMAT:
SINGLES TOURNAMENT, in 4 Groups, HANDICAPPING computed as follows:
220 minus latest PBC Average x 80% (NO ROUNDING-UP) = HDCP + 8 to Lady Bowlers, subject to hdcp limits per group for bowlers below 60 years old.
Highest score of any bowler is 300 inclusive of hdcp, if any.
5. CLASSIFICATIONS:
1. GROUP 1
2. GROUP 2
3. GROUP 3
4. SENIORS
Male and Female bowlers regardless of average. Female bowlers will have an additional 8 handicap. Members of the Philippine /Youth Team/Pool can only play in this group and hdcp. for male and female bowlers is zero and 8 respectively.

Male and Female Bowlers with PBC average of 195 and below. Female bowlers will be given an additional 8 handicap.

Male and Female Bowlers with PBC average of 180 and below. Female bowlers will be given an additional 8 handicap.

Male and Female bowlers with PBC average of 196 and below; and who are fifty years old and above. Forty Niners turning 50 on or before Dec 31, 2014 are qualified to join in this category. Female bowlers will be given an
an additional 8 handicap. Also, additional AGE handicap will be given to all bowlers who are 60 years old and above.

MIGRATION: Any bowler can play in any higher division/group , subject to the maximum hdcp of the migrated group. (Example: If a Male Group 3 bowler self-upgrades to Group 2 or Group 1, his hdcp will be 31 or 19 respectively, plus any additional age hdcp.)
6. REGISTRATION:
All entries must be registered and submitted with the relevant fees starting on October 4, 2014 at the Sta Lucia East Bowling Center, in Cainta Rizal. No refunds will be allowed . For charge accounts, prior arrangements with the Secretariat must be made upon registration. All Events fees or any set fees must be paid in full regardless of whether games have been completed or not.
7. HANDICAPS: (INCLUSIVE OF +8 TO LADY BOWLERS)
*The maximum limits applies only to bowlers below 60 years old.

** ONLY DRIVER'S LICENSE OR PASSPORT IS VALID TO SHOW PROOF OF AGE AND DATE OF BIRTH MUST BE NOT LATER THAN OCTOBER 12, 1954.
8. EVENTS/FEES:

Php 3,200.00 inclusive of the following: Singles- 2 sets of 3 games each.
Doubles- 2 games (all males, all females, or mixed) Team- 2 games (all males, all females or mixed)
Singles- Php 600.00 per set of 3 games
Less 20% discount to Senior Citizens (net Php 480.00) Doubles- Php 400.00 per set of 2 games/bowler
Team- Php 400.00 per set of 2 games/bowler
SINGLES DOUBLE -UP - Simultaneous qualifying in 2 Groups.
Add: Php 300.00 per set of 3 games, less 20% discount to Senior Citizens.
Net: Php 240.00 FINALS FEES:
GROUP 1 (30)
Php 3,500.00 - 10 Games
GROUP 2 (30)
Php 3,200.00 - 10 Games
GROUP 3 (36)
Php 2,800.00 - 10 games
SENIOR MASTERS (36)

9. SCHEDULES /QUALIFYING /FINALS:
Opening ceremonies will be held on October 04, 2014 (Saturday) at the Sta. Lucia East Grand Mall Bowling Center at 12:00 noon and after which, qualifying squad times are as follows:

FINALS EVENTS:
Group 1 - Top 30 qualifiers (1 seeded) will play 10 games series with lane movement every game and positioning in the last game. Top 3 bowlers with the highest Total Pinfalls plus handicaps if any, shall be declared winners.
Group 2 - Top 30 qualifiers will play 10 games series with lane movement every game and positioning in the last game. Top 3 bowlers with the highest Total Pinfalls plus handicaps if any, shall be declared winners.
Group 3 - Top 36 qualifiers will play 10 games series with lane movement every game and positioning in the last game. Top 3 bowlers with the highest Total Pinfalls plus handicaps if any, shall be declared winners.
SENIORS - Top 36 qualifiers will play 10 games series with lane movement every game and positioning in the last game. Top 3 bowlers with the highest Total Pinfalls plus handicaps if any, shall be declared winners.

12. UNIFORMS
Bowlers must wear the generally accepted bowling uniforms reflective of their association, congresses, federation, club or sponsor. Any bowling uniform with PBC logo shall be allowed, except sleeveless and collarless T-shirts. Shorts are allowed for male participants during qualifying days but not in the finals. Wearing of caps or hats is not allowed at any time. Players violating the rule may be penalized with a 10-pins point deduction per game or may not be allowed to bow12.
13. BOWLING BALLS
It is the bowler’s responsibility to ensure that all bowling balls used during the tournament is verified for correctness of weights and other specifications. If in doubt, the ball(s) may be verified by the Tournament Technical Committee.     This committee reserves the right to recall any ball(s) for inspection at any time.
14. TIE BREAK PROCEDURES
When a tie occurs for the last place in the Qualifying or Finals, the high-low tie-breaker scheme will be appliedto determine the positions. If a tie still exists after the tie-breaker, the 9th and 10th frame roll-off will be used and/or repeated until the tie is broken. When a tie occurs for first place in the Finals, a one game roll-off shall be held to determine the positions. If there’s still a tie, the 9th and 10th frame roll-off will be used and/or repeated until the tie is broken.
15. AWARDS
Awarding of prizes shall be held immediately after the finals of each Division or Group.
16. VERIFICATION OF SCORES
It is the bowlers’ responsibility to ensure that the correct score for each game is recorded in the official score sheet by signing on the official score sheet.
17. INTERPRETATION OF RULES
The Tournament Committee reserves the right to make the final interpretation of the Rules and Regulations cited herein.
18. PROTEST
a. Scores -- Must be submitted in writing to the Tournament Committee within 12 hours of the event. No protest made after the prize presentation will be entertained.
b. Eligibility – Must be submitted in writing to the Tournament Committee within 12 hours of the first infringement.
c. Foul – Must be brought to the attention of the Lane Marshall before the delivery of the next ball. No complaints made after the 2nd ball has been bowled shall be entertained.
19. SPECIAL NOTES
The Tournament Director, or in his absence, his appointed official on duty, reserves the right to accept or reject any entry as deem fit. All matters arising which are not covered in these Rules and Regulations will be decided by the Tournament Committee whose decision shall be final. 20. MISCELLANEOUS
Smoking is strictly prohibited in areas other than the designated “SMOKING LOUNGE”. Only current playing bowlers and Marshalls are allowed to stay within the bowlers’ area. Coaches, friends, etc., are designated to stay behind the counter of the bowlers’ area Proper decorum must be observed by everyone at all times.
